In modern China, acupuncture is practiced alongside Western medicine in most hospitals. It is an integral part of traditional oriental medicine.

Acupuncture Needles

Acupuncture treatment is usually carried out by inserting very fine sterilized disposable needles into specific points of the body, stimulating and activating the body's self-healing mechanisms.

The needles - barely felt upon insertion - are allowed to work for up to 45 minutes, during which time the patient is encouraged to relax or sleep. We recommend eating something light prior to a session of acupuncture treatment.

Acupuncture Treatments

The number of acupuncture treatments any particular patient requires depends on each patient's problem or condition. Treatment schedules can vary from two to twelve sessions, depending on whether symptoms are chronic or acute, and on general physical vitality.
